Fairfield Island is situated in the northern part of Chilliwack, bordered by the Fraser River to the north and the Hope Slough to the south. It has a level terrain, is a v scenic, with both agricultural and suburban land usage.
Fairfield Island is easily accessible by road, primarily via Young Road and Menzies Street off Yale Rd north of downtown Chilliwack and from the east through Camp River Rd and connecting roads from Rosedale. It has an in the country feel to it, but the shopping amenities of Chilliwack are in close proximity.
Fairfield Island is comprised of mostly freehold detached single-family homes and house and acreage properties. In recent years some multi-family townhouse complexes have been added along Hope River Rd. These are stylish looking townhomes with a kind of brownstone feel to them.
